Sly Park Environmental Education Center is run through the Sacramento County Office of Education, and is certified by the California Outdoor School Association.

Sly Park Environmental Education Center was founded in 1970 as a partnership between the US Forest Service and the Sacramento County Office of Education. Read the historic announcment of its opening, published June, 1970.
